Our Mission

Our mission is to grow the Democratic Club of HSV and to promote the Democratic Party principles by offering outreach campaigns and providing informative educational forums for registered and potential Democratic voters. We strive to support local, state and national candidates with fundraisers and voter registration initiatives. Who we are

The Democratic Club of Hot Springs Village was founded in 1985 and elected its first official Club President in February 1986. Over the past 35+ years, our Club has grown into a large group of diverse and like-minded people from across the US who have made HSV their home and who work together to share the democratic principles in our community and state.

We pride ourselves with consistently being a top contributor to PAC and a generous donor for local and state Democratic candidates during election years.  We collaborate with Garland County Democrats, the Virginia Clinton Kelly Democratic Women and the Saline County Democrats on various projects and initiatives to register voters and help get Democrats elected. We also hold close relationships with the Arkansas Democratic Party in Little Rock.

In recent years our Club has hosted many candidate forums, special speaker events, and operated a dedicated campaign office integral for sign distribution and candidate literature as well as provide voter information.  We participate in community functions sponsored by the Hot Springs Village POA and other surrounding area events to spread the word about our Club and act as ambassadors for the Democratic platform.

The Democratic Party

The Democratic Platform

The Democratic party remains strong because it’s built on advancing our Democratic platform and forging positive solutions that include everyone. We believe that every person in this nation should be treated with dignity and respect. We believe that health care is a right for all and that we should be rewarding the hard work of middle-class families. We believe that our schools and streets should be free from gun violence and that a woman’s decisions about her own body are hers to make.

We are working together to build a bright future for everyone. We are fighting for the soul of our country, for the heart of our democracy, and for America’s place as the land of opportunity for all.

The Democratic Party in Arkansas

From statehood through 1964, Arkansas was one of the most reliably Democratic states in presidential elections. Since then, however, it has only voted Democratic presidential candidates three times – once to support fellow Southerner Jimmy Carter and twice to support native son Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton. Arkansas ranks last in U.S. for voter turnout and registration. The Natural State also had the highest absentee ballot rejection rate of all 50 states, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission's biennial report showed. Just over 54% of Arkansas' eligible voting age population turned out to vote in 2020, the lowest proportion of any state. We want to change that because we know that bad officials are elected by good people that don't vote.

We believe "A rising tide lifts all boats"
